8 Sentences You Never Want To Hear On A First Date The following phrases are definite red flags! By Andrew Fixell

When embarking on a first date, it's always best to keep things fun and lively. But once in awhile, a dater will become a bit too comfortable, blurting out something he or she will totally regret later. Other times, that verbal diarrheaist simply doesn’t care what others think, and will speak unapologetically and without a filter. Although honesty is crucial to the success of any relationship, there are a few sentences that, when uttered, give an undeniable indication of just how much baggage a person is likely carrying (i.e. lots).

If the following eight lines don't automatically make you run for the hills…well, they should:

"Donald Trump is right about those [insert race here]."

There is nothing wrong with being passionate, or even supporting a controversial viewpoint. There is something wrong, however, with having racist or sexist views.
Even worse is expressing intensely provocative political or religious beliefs on a first date. Leave the questionable commentary to the public figures who are already known for it – or at the very least, wait until your third date.

"Hold on, let me just Instagram this Asian-Ethiopian Fusion Taco.”

Open-minded, adventurous, and internationally cultured people are generally fantastically attractive. But unapologetically fixated, gourmet-obsessed Foodies are often intolerable. Meanwhile, social media addicts are maddeningly frustrating to communicate with. Mix these two personality types together, and you've got a recipe for disaster.

"Can’t you just make some buttered noodles?”

The only thing undeniably worse than being a foodie is being a picky eater.

Gluten or nut allergies are beyond human control, and ethical or health-based dietary choices should be respected. But a person who requires every kitchen to bend over backwards for him or her is exhibiting some seriously high maintenance attributes. Plus, who eats buttered noodles, anyway? Gross.

“I guess you could say I’m 'between' marriages.”

There's nothing wrong with dating a divorcee -- in fact, someone who's already experienced marriage can be much wiser and more mature than someone who has not.
But unless this person is clearly making a joke, using the phrase "between marriages" indicates that he or she is actively scouting for spouse #3, 4, or 5. Serial divorcees are the serial killers of relationships – avoid dating someone who's obsessed with finding his or her "next soulmate."

“What do you mean, you don’t love EDM?”

I’m not a fan of most electronic music, and plenty of people aren't fans of some of the music I listen to. But just because someone doesn’t appreciate your taste in music, film, television or visual art doesn’t mean you have to listen to their narrow-minded, uninformed criticism. Thoughtful artistic debates can be enlightening and stimulating – blind intolerance, however, is just ugly.

“I don’t do television.”

Yes, I've actually heard this statement before. Which prompted me to question, "What scarred this person so badly that led them to completely shun an entire form of nearly universally beloved entertainment?" Remember: Game of Thrones, Orange Is The New Black, and The Walking Dead are just 30 minutes short of acceptable feature film length. Welcome to the 21st century!

“I gotta get back to the rehab facility before they realize I'm gone.”

It’s great when an addict is willing to get help; not so great when an addict isn't taking his or her sobriety seriously. When a person's own health is being disregarded for the sake of a social life, then clearly that person isn't ready for the responsibility of a serious relationship with another person. More importantly, do you really want to date someone in the middle of an intense emotional and physical rehabilitation? Wait until your date has completed treatment.

“Well, some people consider it a cult…”

MOMENTS with YOU By Dennis and Barbara Rainey

Out in the Open
The man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Genesis 2:25

Being "naked" but "not ashamed."

This is why we get married—not just to have sex, but also to become emotionally intimate with another person. We want someone we can be openly transparent with, someone who accepts us, even when we're being our real selves.

Yet although this is what our souls long for, many couples—especially young couples—hide this need behind the mere act of sexual togetherness. They find having sex easier than opening up to each other spiritually, where the potential for hypocrisy and awkwardness always exists. Sex can be easier than opening up emotionally, letting someone else in on their fears and worries and dreams and deepest feelings.

That's why, even when the level of sexual intimacy is high in a marriage, the level of real transparency can still be surprisingly low... and subtly debilitating.

I recall a young single man stopping by Barbar…

Date Like A Man By Alexandra Fox

"Men have a lot more fun with dating than women. Do you ever wonder why? I'll show you why and teach you how to approach dating with the same mindset." Start "dating like a man" to have more fun AND improve your chances of finding the perfect man for you FAST! Hi Ladies,

Have you ever wished you could date like a man? Don't you think men have it SO good?

Do you ever wonder why this is? Let me ask you:

Do you sometimes think about the way men approach dating and wish you could have the same approach, success, and, ultimately, just enjoy it as much as guys do?

Do you think men are more in control in dating? Like we have the upper hand? Do you think a woman can gain that kind of control in dating?

Do you agree that women over-analyze things and that men are much more relaxed when it comes to dating?

How do you think you will do in dating if you can learn how NOT to let your emotions control what you do and - ultimately - the outcome?

Do you often g…

He Led a Double Life Scott Jennings lived in a world of lies, affairs, and deceit until it all fell apart. By Mary May Larmoyeux

Scott Jennings never dreamed he would cross the line. But somehow it happened. He was unhappy at home. He loved Sherry, but … well, she was the boss at her work, and she acted like the boss at home. When things needed to be done, she would tell Scott what to do. And he got tired of it. He wasn’t one to talk about his emotions. So he turned inward. He would escape to the fire station—where he was a volunteer fire fighter—and start drinking. Things got worse after the Jennings’ son, Steven, was born in 1995. Sherry wanted to be supermom and Scott was happy to let her do it. Soon he avoided being around Sherry and Steven altogether. If Sherry went to bed early with Steven, Scott stayed up late and watched TV. He often pretended that a call had come in from the volunteer fire department, but when he left the house he would head to a local bar instead. That’s where he became friends with people who seemed to really understand him. Scott also turned to a woman at work for a listening ear. E…
